What did help was finding a counselor and also practicing yoga with breathing techniques as a main focus. My anxiety has made an appearance more these days on a regular basis but I am no longer taking meds and ended them shortly after because it did not help how I would have liked.

With my last pregnancy I had a lot of trauma come up, talked to a doctor and was put on meds for my anxieties. His is combat related and mine is childhood stuff. My husband and I both suffer from anxiety and ptsd so naturally we are both stress balls.
